Silver and two Bronze @ Ultimate Championships - Sheffield 2012

June 2012 at the Ultimate Championships Ponds Forge Sheffield Radford Love and Hamza Tariq from Pilsung Taekwondo Club both earned a Bronze Medal, Mazen Al-Namari got Silver and Aaron Murdock got a unfortunate 4th place in the under 13 Poomsae event the tournament had a good sized turn out with plenty of exciting matches and fair play.

European Taekwondo Championships - Manchester 2012

06 May was the final day at the 2012 European Taekwondo championships the last major event before the 2012 Olympic games and there was some fantastic bouts in Manchester with Team GB winning 1st place in the overall Male Team Standings seeing Arron Cook (-80 kg), Michael Harvey (-63 kg) and Lutalo Muhammad (-87 kg) all being crowned European Champions in the process, Team GB also won medals from Martin Stamper (-68 kg), Amin Badr (-54 kg), Jade Jones (-57 kg) and Caroline Fisher (-53 kg). Craig Wallace managed to catch up with the legendary French Heavy weight Pascal Gentil for a quick picture.

British Taekwondo Dan Grading - Mansfield April 2012

15 April Well done Ian Murphy (3rd Dan), Raymond Richards (3rd Dan), Zaki Al-Yaffai (2nd Dan), Kah Wee Teo (2nd Dan) and Radford Love (2nd Poom) as well as Tim, Rob and Fakruddin who all passed 1st dan black

BTCB National Poomsae Championships - EIS - Sheffield - 2012

04 February - EIS Sheffield - Well done to Radford Love and Aaron Murdock who entered the 2012 BTCB National Poomsae Championships this was the boys first Nationals, Radford was placed 2nd and Aaron 5th after their performances but as the competion went on the boys under 13 catagory started to prove to be a very strong group with 23 fighting for the top 3 places, and eventually the boys drop out at the 1st phase.

Pilsung at Kangchul One to One - Sheffield September 2011

Congratulations to all the Pilsung competitors who fought at the Kangchul One to One hosted by Master Scott Coullie.

Unforuntaley there were a number of "no shows" and so not everyone got a fight on the day but the ones that did really did themsleves proud. The team consisted of 11 players from Pilsungs clubs based in and around the city. Click for here information about the day

UK Team selection Success Summer 2011

Congratulations Aaron Murdock who was selected for the BTCB National Cadet team for Poomse, Aaron is a new addition to Pilsung club but has come on in leaps and bounds.
After proving himself in the club he was invited to the Cadet selection seminar held by Carlton-Arena Taekwondo in Nottingham.

Aaron shone and showed a high level of skill he was successfully selected, Aaron looks forward into being part of the National Team and competing on International stage. At only 9 years old this is a fantastic acheivement and the Pilsung club wish him all the best as he gets used to the National setup.

Dan Grading Success Spring 20111

Congratulations to Radford Love, Lee Carnell and Michelle Platts on their fantastic performance at the 90th BTCB National Dan Grading on 16 April 2011. The grading was well attended with candidates from far and wide. Young Radford’s (12) performance was very strong and precise and clearly put all his hard work into his grading, he is hoping to now concentrate on competing both Kyrougi and Poomse for 2011/2012.

Dan Grading Success Winter 2010

Congratulations to Lewis Blackburn, Jordan Graham and Zakarya Al-yaffai on the fantastic performance at the 89th BTCB National Dan Grading on 11 December 2010. All 3 students put in extra worked in the run up to the grading with plenty of extra training and dedication in preperation for a strong performance on the day. Instructors Craig Wallace, Simon Turton and Raymond Richards all attented the grading with the candidates for moral support and were all very pleased with the results on the day all saying that "Plenty of hard work always pays off".

Success in Doncaster

Congratulations to Amann Siddiq and Lewis Blackburn on their victories at the recent Doncaster Dome One to One 14 November 2010. Amann won 17 - 5 and Lewis won in a fantastic fight 27 - 26 unfortunatley Lewis was injured in his second fight and was unable to continue having to pay a visit to the local A&E. Commiseration to Hasan Siddiq - (13 - 16) and Hamza Tariq - (6 - 12) who both fought bravely but didn't get the result they wanted they both fought well and picked up some invaluable fight experience well done.e

BTCB Technical Semniar 2010

17 October 2010 Pilsung Taekwondo attended the BTCB technical semniar at the Mansfield Leisure centre in preperation for the up coming 88th BTCB Dan Grading. The seminar was split into grades and age and involved work based on the BTCB Dan grading sysllabus, to make sure everyone new what was expected of them at the actual grading.
All students had a really good time and learnt something new to bring back home and practice, wether it be a new one step technique or alternative Poomse move we all got some in valuable expierence.

Scorpion Open Successs 2010

Congratulations to Radford Love, Josh Furness (Gold Medalist), Sammi Noor & Zakarya Al-yaffai (Bronze Medalist) who competed at the recent Scoprion Open at Sheffield's English Insitiute for Sport this was a fairly well attended event drawing in players from Wales, Co Durham, Mansfield, Manchester, Barnsley, Doncaseter and Winchester.
There was also a lot of home town support from fellow Pilsung students and over we all gained a lot of valuable experience ready for the next time and to hopefully bring home more silverware.

Barnsley One to One July 2010

04 July 04 July 2010 was the Barnsely One to One hosted by Tony Morgan from Scorpion Taekwondo. The tournament was held at the Barnsley Metradome and was well attended.

Pilsung Fighters Included:
Zak Al Yaffari with a very impressive 10 - 8 win who ended the 1st round 0-6 down, Sammy Noor who lost (11 - 5) after a great second round resurgence and Salman Kaed who also had a tought fight missing out at (14 - 4). Well done to all fighters, stepping in that ring to compete is not an easy thing at all and eah match should be seen as a step towards a greater victory.

Summer Kup Grading 2010

12 June 2010 was the Pilsung Summer Kup grading held at the English Institute of Sport in Attercliffe.

Spring May 2010 Dan Grading

Congratulations to Sammy Noor and Salman Kaed whom were successful at the Spring BTCB national Dan Grading in Mansfield.

They both receieved their black belt 1st Dan's and are looking forward to build on their sucesses now in Kyrougi and progressing to a national level.
More good news for Pilsung Taekwondo, Raymond Richards and Ian Murphy also were successful and gained their 2nd Dan's the following day after many months hard commitment and training for their goal. Finally young Josh Furnsh one of Pilsung's aspiring young talents gain a well earned 3rd Poom after again lots of hard work and commitment.

Spring 2010 Pilsung Kup Grading

Congratulations to all successful students who attended the Spring 2010 Pilsung Kup Grading held at the English Institue of Sport March 2010.

The standard was very high from the junior grades, and through out the grading itself.. Master Andrew Hill and Master Craig Wallace would like to thank all parents for there support and help through out the afternoon, and would like convey a special thanks to the grading panel and black belts for there much appreciated commitment. The venue for the Summer Kup grading is yet to be confirmed.

Winter 2009 BTCB Dan Grading

Congratulations to Martin Elliot and Lauren on a passing their 1st Dan grading held at the Mansfield Manor Sports complex on 12 December 2009.
